PURPOSE: A moxa cautery bar and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to maintain heat of high temperature for long time by combusting mugwort and to allow a user to safely use the moxa cautery bar by preventing red clay from being cracked by evenly and easily combusting the mugwort. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a moxa cautery bar comprises as follows. Raw mugwort ground in a cotton shape of a fiber by drying the mugwort, and charcoal powder is obtained by grinding fine charcoal manufactured by burning an oak (S1,S2). A mixed dough manufactured by mixing the raw mugwort, charcoal powder, and water is put in a mold in order to include the shape of the moxa cautery bar in which an air path is formed in the center (S3,S4). The moxa cautery bar formed in a non-dried state is heated and dried in a vacuum state in order to remove moisture (S5). A red clay solution is evenly sprayed on the surface of the dried moxa cautery bar in a spray method, and the moxa cautery bar in which a red clay coating layer is formed is obtained after a natural drying process (S6). [Reference numerals] (2) Moxa cautery bar； (AA) Mugwort； (BB) Dry-pulverizing； (CC) Raw mugwort； (DD) Charcoal(hard charcoal)； (EE) Pulverizing； (FF) Charcoal powder； (GG) Red clay solution； (S3) Mixed dough； (S4) Molding； (S5) Vacuum drying； (S6) Natural drying본 발명은 쑥뜸기 위에 안착하여 사용하는 쑥뜸봉을 제조함에 있어서, 쑥을 건조시켜 섬유질의 솜 형태로 분쇄된 생쑥을 얻는 단계와 참나무를 태워 나온 백탄을 분쇄하여 숯가루를 얻는 단계를 각각 거친 후(S1,S2단계), 생쑥과 숯가루를 물과 함께 혼합 반죽하여 얻어진 혼합반죽물을 성형틀에 넣어 중앙에 공기통로가 형성된 쑥뜸봉 형체를 갖도록 성형 제조한 후(S3,S4단계), 미건조된 상태로 성형된 쑥뜸봉을 진공상태에서 가열 건조하여 수분을 제거한 후(S5단계), 건조된 쑥뜸봉의 표면에 황토액을 스프레이방식으로 고르게 분사하여 도포한 다음 자연 건조과정을 거친 후(S6단계), 표면에 황토코팅층이 형성된 쑥뜸봉을 제조되게 한 것이다.또한 본 발명은 쑥뜸봉을 구성함에, 건조 쑥을 이용한 분쇄 생쑥과 참나무를 태워 백탄을 이용한 분쇄 숯가루로 반죽되고 성형후 건조하여서 얻어진 쑥뜸봉을 구성하되, 쑥뜸봉의 표면에는 황토코팅층이 형성되고 상기 쑥뜸봉의 생쑥과 숯가루의 부피비율이 60∼70부피％ : 30∼40부피％로 구성하도록 한 것이다.
