PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shredding apparatus for a roll of pasture grass, etc., capable of stably performing transfer, cut and discharge work of the roll and attaining reduction of size, weight and cost of the apparatus by mechanically and synchronously interlocking transfer motion of the pasture roll, cutting operation with a cutting blade and discharging motion of the cut product with a small number of driving systems.SOLUTION: A shredding apparatus 1 for a roll of pasture grass, etc., includes: a pasture grass roll 2 a transfer means 3 to receive the pasture grass roll 2 and transfer the roll in lateral direction a cutting means 5 positioned in the transfer direction of the pasture grass roll 2 and having a cutting blade 4 in contact with the surface side of the roll and cutting the roll a guiding trough 6 to receive the cut product cut by the cutting blade 4 and guide the transfer of the cut product and a transferring and discharging means 7 to transfer the cut product along the guiding trough 6 and discharging the cut product outward from a tip end of the guiding trough 6.
