PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article with high absorption capacity of an excretion liquid, which can reliably and stably perform shape retention of an absorber by enabling constant reinforcement of the absorber when a wearer wears it.SOLUTION: A liquid diffusion sheet 13, which is formed of a nonwoven fabric including a cellulose fiber and extends to a longer direction of an absorber 12, is disposed between the absorber 12 and a liquid impermeable sheet 11. The liquid diffusion sheet 13 comprises: a base part 20 disposed on the liquid impermeable sheet side a plurality of ridge parts 21 which are provided on the absorber side of the base part 20 at regular intervals, protrude to the absorber side, and extend to the longer direction of the absorber 12 and groove parts 22 formed between the adjacent ridge parts 21 and 21, with which a bottom 22a is formed by the base part 20.
