PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food or beverage material containing kudzu starch powder which can be dissolved in high-temperature hot water, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a food or beverage material includes: a crushing step S1 for crushing kudzu starch lumps into kudzu starch powder a kneading step S3 for mixing and kneading kudzu starch powder with oligosaccharide a granulating step S4 for granulating the kneaded product of kudzu starch powder and oligosaccharide a drying step S5 for drying the granulated product of kudzu starch power and oligosaccharide and a powdering step S6 for powdering the dried granules of kudzu starch powder and oligosaccharide. The ratio of blending of kudzu starch powder to oligosaccharide is preferably in the range from 3:7 to 4:6 in weight. The food or beverage material is quickly dissolved without kudzu starch powder becoming lumps even if high-temperature hot water is directly poured. Accordingly, such a process of heating kudzu starch powder once dissolved in water can be avoided, and a health promotion effect of kudzu starch powder can be more easily enjoyed.
