PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow operation to be performed easily in accordance with the examiner.SOLUTION: There is provided a slit lamp, comprising: a movable part on which a device body to examine a subject eye is mounted a movement mechanism which includes a drive part to move the movable part an operation member operated by an examiner to cause movement of the movable part with respect to the subject eye operation detection means for detecting an operation signal of the operation member drive control means which converts the operation signal received from the operation detection means into a drive signal of the drive part and controls drive parameters for driving the drive part, to thereby control the driving of the drive part and drive setting means which includes a plurality of drive control modes each having a respective correlation between the operation signal and the drive parameters determined therein, and which presets one of the drive control modes.
