Complexes of Ag(III) are prepared by chemical oxidation of Ag(I) compounds to form aqueous solutions containing Ag(III) having a pH of 0 to 7； the solution containing Ag(III) is combined with an aqueous solution having a pH of 7 to 13 and containing ligands, such as periodate, to form a product solution containing Ag(III)-ligand complexes. The pH of the product solution can be adjusted to obtain complexes having particular physicochemical properties. Compositions and methods for preparing and using same are provided.La présente invention concerne des complexes d'Ag(III) qui sont préparés par oxydation chimique de composés d'Ag(I) pour former des solutions aqueuses contenant de l'Ag(III) ayant un pH de 0 à 7； la solution contenant de l'Ag(III) est combinée à une solution aqueuse ayant un pH de 7 à 13 et contenant des ligands, tels que du periodate, pour former une solution de produit contenant des complexes Ag(III)-ligand.
