PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fasten a fastening type absorbent article having stretchable fastening sheets while reliably keeping elasticity thereof.SOLUTION: An absorbent article comprises: a body part 10 having a ventral part 11 and a back side part 12 a top sheet 10a and a back sheet 10b a pair of stretchable sheets 20 and 20 which are provided so as to extend in directions of both sides of the back side part 12 and have extension/contraction parts 21 and 21, and in which first fastening members 23 and 23 are fastened to free end parts 22 and 22 in the directions of both sides a pair of extension suppression sheets 30 and 30 which are provided so as to extend in the directions of both sides of the back side part 12 and overlap the back sheet 10b side of the stretchable sheets 20 and 20, and suppress the extension of the extension/contraction parts 21 and 21 in the middle and first fastened parts 40 which are provided on the outer face of the back sheet 10b side of the ventral part 11, and to which the first fastening members 23 and 23 are detachably fastened.
