PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article capable of simply and smoothly releasing a side seal part.SOLUTION: An underpants type absorbent article 1 includes: an exterior body 2 and an absorbent body 3, wherein side seal parts S are formed. The exterior body 2 includes: an outer layer sheet 22 an inner layer sheet 23 and a plurality of elastic members 24 disposed in the cross direction Y of the article. The vicinity of the inside in the article cross direction Y of the side seal part S is provided with intermittent bonding parts 26S where the outer layer sheet 22 and the inner layer sheet 23 are intermittently bonded in the article vertical direction X. The bonding parts 26S have a plurality of inside bonding parts 26 intermittently formed not to overlap the elastic members 24. The side seal parts S have a plurality of outside bonding parts 5 intermittently formed not to overlap the elastic members 24. The outer edge part 26g of each inside bonding part 26 has a part located at the same level as the outside bonding part 5, a part extended upward from the upper end position of the outside bonding part 5, and a part extended downward from the lower end position of the outside bonding part 5.
