PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for manufacturing absorbent articles, capable of effectively manufacturing an absorbent article provided with a first sheet partially extended in the vertical direction and a second sheet layered at least on the extended part of the first sheet and joined.
SOLUTION: A first continuous body 31 with surface sheets continuously connected to one another in the front/rear direction is made to pass through a prescribed confluent part 61 by a first conveying mechanism 42. A second continuous body 32 with auxiliary sheets 16 continuously connected to one another is fed to the confluent part 61 by a second conveying mechanism 43. The first continuous body 31 is intermittently extended in the front/rear direction and the second continuous body 32 is cut every prescribed length at the confluent part 61 by a second confluence forming mechanism 47. The auxiliary sheet 16 obtained by the cutting is layered on at least the part extended in the front/rear direction of the first continuous body 31 and joined to the extended part.
