PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for manufacturing absorbent articles, capable of effectively manufacturing an absorbent article provided with a first sheet at least partly extended in the vertical direction and a second sheet on which the first sheet is layered and joined.
SOLUTION: A first continuous body 31 with surface sheets continuously connected to one another in the front/rear direction is fed into a confluent part 61 by a first conveying mechanism 42. A second continuous body 32 with top sheets continuously connected to one another is made to pass through the confluent part 61 by a second conveying mechanism 43. The first continuous body 31 is cut at length corresponding to the length of each surface sheet at the confluent part 61 by a confluence forming mechanism 47. A slit-formed section of the obtained surface sheet is extended in the front/rear direction, and the surface sheet is layered on the second continuous body 32 and joined to the continuous body.
