PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which prevents leakage of body fluids at side parts and shows an excellent leakproof property.
SOLUTION: Both side edges 2s, 2s of a surface sheet 2 are positioned on the same places as both side edges 4s, 4s of an absorber 4 or outside both side edges 4s, 4s in the width direction. A pair of side leakproof members 5, 5 are each configured by containing side sheets 6 for covering a side part of the surface sheet 2. At least one part of the side sheet 6 is joined to a side part of the surface sheet 2 in the outside of the inner side edge part 61 in the width direction, and an opening part 71 which opens when being worn is formed between the joining part 8 and the inner side edge part 61. Water-shedding treatment is performed on both side parts 21, 21 covered with the side sheet 6 in the surface sheet 2 and/or on surfaces facing the surface sheet 2 in the side sheet 6. Ink is applied to the parts where the water-shedding treatment is performed so that the parts are visible when the absorbent article 1 is seen from a skin abutment surface side.
