PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly dispose a steering mechanism of front wheels and first and second work speed change gears inside a transmission case in a paddy-field work machine.SOLUTION: A steering shaft 74 of front wheels operated by a steering handle is disposed in a vertical direction inside a transmission case 10 between an input shaft 21, first and second work speed change gears, and a front wall part 10d of the transmission case 10, and a pinion gear 74a is provided in the lower part of the steering shaft 74. An operation shaft 76 for steering the front wheels is disposed in a portion of a bottom part 10f of the transmission case 10 behind the pinion gear 74a in the vertical direction, and an operation gear 76a in the upper part of the operation shaft 76 is engaged with the pinion gear 74a.
