To provide a position guidance system to assist clinicians in guiding an interventional instrument to a location in a patient anatomy from which an interventional procedure will be conducted.SOLUTION: A method of guiding an interventional instrument into a patient anatomy comprises processing a target location within the patient anatomy and receiving a position of a tip portion of an interventional instrument at a first location within the patient anatomy.
