PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce hydrogel particles in which a fatty acid divalent metal salt is finely dispersed in a particle.SOLUTION: The method for production of hydrogel particles includes: a sol preparation process of dissolving a gel forming agent of a non-crosslinked type hydrogel in water and preparing a sol in which at least one powder hardly soluble in water selected from the group consisting of fatty acid divalent metal salt, fatty acid acyllysine and fatty acid acyltaurine divalent metal salt is dispersed and a gel particle-forming process of gelating the sol prepared by the above process by forming the droplet of the sol and cooling.
