PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defoaming agent for food and drink having an excellent defoaming rate and excellent defoaming persistence, and to solve defoaming problems in a production process and the like of food and drink by using the defoaming agent for food and drink.SOLUTION: The defoaming agent for food and drink is an O/W type emulsion, comprising 3 components having specific structures as essential components, in which two components which are lipophilic emulsifiers for food and drink form an oil phase in a state they are melted together.
