A remotely operated actuator comprises an elongated shaped spindle guide unit (3) and a front end member (2) which is attached to the front end of the spindle guide unit (3) so that the attitude of the front end member (2) can be changed and which rotatably supports a tool (1). The spindle guide unit (3) is provided therein with a rotation shaft (22) which transmits rotation to a spindle (13) and also with a through guide hole (30a) which is open at both ends of the spindle guide unit (3). The attitude of the front end member (2) is changed by advancing and retracting an attitude operation member (31) by means of a drive source (42) for attitude change, the attitude operation member (31) being inserted through the guide hole (30a) so that the attitude operation member (31) can be advanced and retracted.
