Compositions for oxidative hair coloring, containing the following: 60 —83 weight-% water oxidation dye precursor(s) an alkalizing pH adjuster a specific mixture of a networked copolymer of acrylic acid and non-ethoxy controlled esters of acrylic acid with linear C10-C30 alkane mono alcohols a C14-C22 carboxylic acid glyceryl fatty acid esters surfactant branched C10-C50 alkanol and linear, saturated C8-C22 alkan-l-ol. Preferably the glyceryl ester is a diglyceride or monoglyceride such that the fatty acid(s) has a C11-C17 carbon chain. The surfactant may be anionic, zwitterionic, amphoteric or non-ionic type surfactants. In an embodiment the glyceryl ester is glyceryl stearate, the branched alcohol is 2-octyldodecanol, the linear alcohol is cetearyl alcohol, the carboxylic acid is oleic acid, the co-polymer is acrylates/C10-C30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer and the surfactant is sodium laureth sulphate and sodium cetearyl sulfate.
