The method of claim 1, wherein the amount of L-caxapa is from about 60 g to about 140 g. The method of claim 1, wherein the amount of L-caxapa is from about 70 g to about 130 g. The method of claim 1, wherein the amount of L-caxapa is from about 80 g to about 120 g. The method of claim 1, wherein the amount of L-caxapa is from about 90 g to about 110 g. The method of claim 1, wherein the administration comprises administering a first dose of a composition containing L-caxap and a second dose of a composition containing L-sugar. The method of claim 10, wherein the first dose contains at least about 36 g of L-caxapa and the second dose contains at least about 30 g of L-caxapa. The method of claim 10, wherein the first dose contains from about 36 to about 80 g of L-caxapa and the second dose contains from about 30 g to about 60 g of L-caxapa, and the second dose contains from 40 g to 60 g of L-caxapa. 13. The method of claim 10, wherein the first dose contains from about 40 to about 50 g of L-caxapa and the second dose contains from about 30 g to about 40 g of L-caxapa.
