It is an object of the present invention to provide a deodorant that can be fundamentally removed without re-releasing ammonia and amines. Furthermore, in addition to these gases, it is an object to provide a deodorant that exerts an effect on aldehydes, hydrogen sulfide, and mercaptans. By containing water, a carboxylic acid that is a hydroxy acid or a keto acid, and a metal salt (in particular, a zinc salt such as zinc oxide) that becomes water-soluble by binding to the carboxylic acid, it can be used for ammonia and amines. Deodorizing effect was demonstrated.
