PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide effervescent external preparations having an excellent warm feeling effect and having a large foaming amount of carbon dioxide, and having high foaming persistence, while easily foaming carbon dioxide.SOLUTION: An effervescent external preparation comprises an acidic water-free liquid composition (A) and a water-containing liquid composition (B) containing a basic composition, in which the acidic water-free liquid composition (A) and the water-containing liquid composition (B) are mixed to use. The acidic water-free liquid composition (A) comprises (a1) one or more selected from the group consisting of malic acid and ascorbic acid, (a2) polyol, and (a3) a gelling agent or a thickener.
