PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vitrification-preserving and embryo-containing straw for transplantation capable of obtaining high survivability and being directly transplanted by melting in a garden and a production method thereof.SOLUTION: A straw 11 for transplantation comprises a transplantation liquid layer 12, a first diluent layer 13, an embryo-containing part 14 including a mammalian embryo and a vitrified liquid, and a second diluent layer 15 in this order within it. The transplantation liquid layer 12, the first diluent layer 13 and the second diluent layer 15 are frozen respectively.
