PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic atomizer, performing deodorizing and bactericidal operation for a filter using mist.
SOLUTION: This electrostatic atomizer 7 is used in an air cleaning part 1 in which the air sucked from a suction port 11 is purified by the filter 2, and discharged from a discharge port 12. The atomizer includes a needle-like atomizing part, which retains water and a voltage applying part, which applies high voltage to the water to thereby electrostatic-atomize the water retained in the needle-like atomizing part and generate mist of nano-size, wherein the atomizing part is provided on the upstream side of the filter 2.
