PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seed coating agent, a coated seed and a seed coating method having improved coating uniformity and seed separation during powder coating. A seed coating material according to the present invention comprises (a) an iron material which is a mixture of iron oxide and iron powder, and (b) a binder containing a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin, and iron oxide is an iron material. The proportion contained in is 20% by mass or more and 70% by mass or less, and the proportion of particles less than 45 μm is 60% by mass or more.
