PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material in which the dispersion of a titanium oxide is superior and a hard sediment layer is not formed during storage, also, the deposition between seeds and the deposition to a work tank are reduced in coating, the coating seminal color is superior without being affected by the seed coat color, the peeling from the seeds is not caused, and further germination performance is not affected adversely.SOLUTION: A coating material is characterized by containing a titanium oxide, talc, polyvinyl alcohol and ethylene/acetic acid vinyl copolymer, in which a content of the titanium oxide is 10 mass% or more and 40 mass% or less, the weight ratio of the titanium oxide to the talc is 3:1 to 0.5:1, and the weight ratio of the PVA to the EVA is 3:1 to 0.5:1.SELECTED DRAWING: None【課題】酸化チタンの分散性が優れていて保管時に固い沈殿層を形成することがなく、また、被覆加工中に種子同士の付着や、加工槽への付着が少なく、被覆種子の色彩が種皮色の影響を受けずに良好であり、種子からの剥離が起こらず、さらに、発芽性能に悪影響がない被覆材を提供する。【解決手段】酸化チタン、タルク、ポリビニルアルコール、およびエチレン・酢酸ビニル共重合体を含有し、酸化チタンの含有量が10質量%以上40質量%以下であり、酸化チタン:タルクの重量比率が3:1~0.5:1であり、PVA:EVAの重量比率が3:1~0.5:1であることを特徴とする。【選択図】なし
