PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seed coating agent, a coated seed and a seed coating method capable of improving the coating uniformity and the seed releasability and keeping the coating layer of the coated seed at a practically sufficient strength. A seed coating agent according to the present invention contains iron oxide powder and iron powder as an iron material, and is used for coating a seed surface, wherein the iron oxide powder has a ratio in the iron material. 20% by weight or more and 70% by weight or less, and 60% by weight or more of iron oxide powder having a particle diameter of less than 45 μm with respect to the total weight thereof, the iron powder having a particle diameter of less than 45 μm with respect to the total weight thereof.
