PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition containing a conventional substitute of zinc oxide particles, which is desirably a cosmetic composition capable of selectively absorbing or solidifying sebum or fatty acid.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a composition that contains: (a) at least one type of salt selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal salt and an alkaline earth metal salt and (b) at least one type of alkaline agent other than the salt of (a), in which an amount of the alkaline agent of (b) is 1 mass% or more based on the total mass of the composition.
