PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality of a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus using an open type magnet by suppressing vibration to wiring for use in connecting two gradient magnetic field coils to be paired.SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes static magnetic field-generating unit vertically arranged facing each other with a space in between to generate a static magnetic field in the space where a subject is disposed, and a gradient magnetic field-generating unit disposed on the space side of the static magnetic field-generating unit to generate a gradient magnetic field in the space. A cable for supplying a current to the gradient magnetic field-generating unit includes a first portion and a second portion higher in rigidity than the first portion, and the second portion is disposed in a position closer to the space than the first portion.
