PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic generator for an MRI apparatus excellent in communicating with a subject of the MRI device and the MRI apparatus provided with the acoustic generator.SOLUTION: An acoustic generator for an MRI apparatus has: an acoustic coil 262 which is provided apart from a magnetostatic field generating coil or a gradient magnetic field generating coil in the imaging magnetic field created by the magnetostatic field generating coil or the gradient magnetic field generating coil provided for the MRI apparatus or in the imaging magnetic field created by both the magnetostatic field generating coil and the gradient magnetic field generating coil； a diaphragm 280 which vibrates on the basis of a force occurring to the acoustic coil 262 by operation between current flowing the acoustic coil 262 and the imaging magnetic field generated by the MRI apparatus； and a support body supporting the diaphragm 280 in the way that it can vibrate. The current flowing the acoustic coil 262 is current whose value changes as it generates sound, and as the current changes, a force occurring to the acoustic coil 262 changes and, by the diaphragm vibrating the air as the force changes, sound is generated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2【課題】ＭＲＩ装置の被検者とコミュニケーションを図るのに良好なＭＲＩ装置用の音響発生器、および該音響発生器を備えたＭＲＩ装置を提供する。【解決手段】ＭＲＩ装置が備える静磁場発生用コイルあるいは傾斜磁場発生用コイルにより作られる撮像用磁場に、あるいは静磁場発生用コイルおよび傾斜磁場発生用コイルの両方により作られる撮像用磁場に、静磁場発生用コイルや傾斜磁場発生用コイルとは別に設けられた音響用コイル２６２と、音響用コイル２６２を流れる電流とＭＲＩ装置が発生する撮像用磁場との作用により音響用コイル２６２に発生する力に基づいて振動する振動板２８０と、振動板２８０を振動可能に支持する支持体と、を有し、音響用コイル２６２を流れる電流は音響を発生するためにその値が変化する電流であり、電流の変化に従って音響用コイル２６２に発生する力が変化し、振動板が力の変化に従って空気を振動させることにより音響を発生する。【選択図】図２
