PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron powder for coating seeds which, when used in coating, scarcely falls off not only during sowing but also during transportation, and iron powder-coated rice seeds that are coated with the iron powder for coating seeds and to provide an iron powder for coating rice seeds which is unlikely to damage rice seeds and easy to handle, and iron powder-coated rice seeds that are coated with the iron powder for coating rice seeds.SOLUTION: In the iron powder for coating seeds, the ratio by mass of iron particles having a particle size of 63 &mum or smaller is controlled to 0-75%, the ratio by mass of iron particles having a particle size larger than 63 &mum but not larger than 150 &mum is controlled to 25-100%, and the ratio by mass of iron particles having a particle size larger than 150 &mum is controlled to 0-50%.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】播種工程のみならず輸送工程においても鉄粉の脱落が少ない被覆が実現できる種子被覆用鉄粉及び該稲種子被覆用鉄粉を被覆した鉄粉被覆稲種子を得ること。また、稲種子に対してダメージを与える可能が少なく、さらには取り扱いも容易な稲種子被覆用鉄粉及び該稲種子被覆用鉄粉を被覆した鉄粉被覆稲種子を得ること。【解決手段】本発明に係る種子被覆用鉄粉は、粒子径が63μm以下の鉄粉の質量比率が0%以上75%以下、かつ、粒子径が63μmを越え150μm以下の鉄粉の質量比率が25%以上100%以下、かつ粒子径が150μmを越える鉄粉の質量比率が0%以上50%以下であることを特徴とするものである。【選択図】 図1
