PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a weed in a seed treatment, in which a herbicidal compound in a herbicidal composition is rapidly eluted out of the seed system without causing phytotoxicity to the crop itself, particularly to rice, and especially to a weed in a paddy field. Provided is a method for producing a seed preparation, which can secure a herbicidal compound concentration at which it can be practically controlled. A method for producing a seed preparation by iron coating, comprising the steps of 1) treating seeds with iron powder, 2) treating seeds with a herbicidal composition, and 3) stopping the oxidation reaction of the treated iron powders.
