PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating lotus root capable of increasing yield while lightening workload.SOLUTION: A method for cultivating a lotus root of the present invention comprises: a planting step of arranging a cultivation tube 10, in which a seed lotus root 1 is charged in a growth chamber 15 surrounded by a tube body 11 together with cultivation soil 5, into a cultivation tank 30 in a vertical position and a harvesting step of pulling up cultivation tube 10 from cultivation tank 30 in harvesting time when the seed lotus root 1 has grown to a lotus root 3.
