The present invention relates to a self-propelled machine for protecting a cultivated surface against frost, such as a plot of vines, comprising: - a frame (10) supporting at least one hot air generator (12), each generator hot air (12) comprising a heat source and at least one fan to ensure heat exchange between the air circulated by said at least one fan and said heat source, - each hot air generator (12) being connected and in fluid communication with a duct (14) having an elongated shape, the lower part of said duct (14) having a return elbow (15) and an ejection mouth (16) for hot blown air, which is directed towards the outside of said self-propelled machine, - each duct (14) being arranged on said frame (10) so that the hot air is ejected through its ejection mouth (16) at or substantially at the level, from the ground, - said self-propelled machine comprising at least one energy supply source e on board to supply said at least one hot air generator (12) so that said machine is autonomous.
