The present invention relates to a new Lactobacillus acidophilus YT1 (deposition number: KCCM11808P) strain, and a composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating climacterium comprising Lactobacillus acidophilus including the new strain as a main ingredient. The present inventors have established a climacterium animal model through ovariosteresis, have confirmed a distribution change of intestinal microorganisms therefrom, have identified and separated a new Lactobacillus acidophilus strain from Lactobacillus which shows a significantly decreasing distribution in a climacterium model. In addition, the present inventors have confirmed body fat increase control, bone density decrease control, pain sensitivity increase control, and depression alleviation, or the like by the new strain and a conventionally reported Lactobacillus acidophilus strain. Therefore, a composition comprising the Lactobacillus acidophilus according to the present invention is predicted to be useful for preventing, alleviating, or treating climacterium.본 발명은 신규한 락토바실러스 아시도필루스(Lactobacillus acidophilus) YT1(수탁번호: KCCM11808P) 균주, 및 상기 신규 균주를 포함한 락토바실러스 아시도필루스를 유효성분으로 포함하는 갱년기의 예방, 개선, 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명자들은 난소적출을 통해 갱년기 동물모델을 정립하고 이로부터 장내 미생물의 분포 변화를 확인하고, 갱년기 모델에서 분포가 유의하게 감소하는 유산균 중에서 신규한 락토바실러스 아시도필루스 균주를 동정 및 분리하였으며, 상기 신규 균주 및 종래 보고된 락토바실러스 아시도필루스 균주에 의한 체지방 증가 억제, 골밀도 감소 억제, 통증의 민감도 증가 억제, 및 우울증 완화 등의 갱년기 증상 개선효과를 확인하였는바, 본 발명에 따른 상기 락토바실러스 아시도필루스를 포함하는 조성물은 갱년기의 예방, 개선, 또는 치료 용도로써 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
