PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaged beverage containing catechin in high concentration and reduced in bitterness and/or astringency.
SOLUTION: The non-tea-based packaged beverage has pH 2-6, contains purified green tea extract, and contains the following ingredients (A) and (B): (A): 0.03-0.6 mass% of nonpolymer catechins, and (B): at least one selected from a group comprising furaneol, sotolon, homofuronol, maltol, ethylmaltol, vanillin, ethylvanillin, methyl anthranilate and N-methyle anthranilate methyle in a mass ratio (B)/(A) of 0.00005-0.5.
