The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a functional beverage including extracts of a balloon flower root and a bamboo as active ingredient and a functional beverage manufactured using the same. The method includes the steps of: (S1) preparing a balloon flower root by trimming (S2) preparing a bamboo by trimming (S3) mixing 20 to 60 wt% of the bamboo obtained in step (S2) with respect to 100 wt% of the balloon flower root prepared in step (S1) (S4) heating and sterilizing the mixture of the balloon flower root and the bamboo mixed in step (S3) (S5) obtaining filtrate by squeezing and filtering the mixture heated and sterilized in step (S4) to remove a solid material and (S6) concentrating the filtrate obtained in step (S5). The functional beverage including the extracts of the balloon flower root and the bamboo as active ingredients and manufactured according to the present invention has an advantage in that a unique unpleasant and bitter taste of the balloon flower root is completely removed, and a gastrointestinal disturbance is prevented, thus preference is improved.
