PURPOSE: A novel variety of grass, Green zoa, is provided to show superior growth characteristics at high temperature and under a dry condition as a mutant individual of Korean Zoysia japonica, compared with common Korean Zoysia japonica, to improve coverage ratio with high growth rate, and to maintain green color.CONSTITUTION: A novel variety of grass, Green zoa, has characteristics as follows. The width and the length of leaves are 5.5-6.5 cm and 4.5-5.5 cm, respectively. The length of nodes is 5.5-6.5 cm. The internode length of stolons under the ground is 1.5-2.0 cm. The angle of the leaves is 40-55 degrees. The stolons on the ground are green, maintain green color, and enable asexual reproduction with drought tolerance and heat tolerance. The grass is able to grow at a high temperature of 40-50 °C. The length of fruits is 4.0-4.5 mm. The length and the color of grains are 4.5-6.0 mm and light green (RHS color chard number 117), respectively.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013본 발명은 잔디 신품종 그린조아에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로 본 발명은 엽폭이 5.5~6.5cm, 엽장이 4.5~5.5cm, 마디길이가 5.5~6.5cm, 지하포복경 절간길이가 1.5~2.0cm, 잎각도가 40~55°이고, 지상부 포복경이 녹색이며 녹색 기간이 연장되고, 내건성 및 내열성을 가지며 무성적으로 반복생식이 가능한 잔디 신품종 그린조아에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 잔디 신품종인 그린조아는 한국형 들잔디의 변이 개체로서 통상의 한국형 들잔디에 비해 고온 및 건조의 환경에서도 잘 생육하며 생육속도도 높아 피복율이 우수할 뿐만 아니라 녹색 기간이 긴 특징이 있어 개발지, 공원, 경기장 또는 골프장과 같은 피복 또는 녹화를 필요로 하는 지역에 유용하게 사용할 수 있는 효과가 있으며, 나아가 우수한 한국 잔디품종의 해외 수출을 위한 잔디 육성 산업에도 유용하게 사용될 수 있는 효과가 있다.
