PURPOSE: A novel variety of lawn plants is provided to commercialize high quality lawn plants with superior leaf texture compared with the leaf texture of a wild type and to be used as a useful resource. CONSTITUTION: A novel variety (KCTC 12176BP) of lawn plants is obtained by making seeds of Zoysia japonica irradiated with proton beam at a dose of 230-280 Gy. The proton beam-irradiated lawn plants have thinner leaves than wild type lawn plants. The width of the proton beam-irradiated lawn plants is reduced by 0.51.5 mm compared with the wild type lawn plants.
