PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling planting device having a constitution in which a seedling pressing tool so as to prevent the occurrence of missing plants or damage to seedlings when rolled mat seedlings in a state thereof delivered to a seedling takeout port are taken out of a seedling-carrying platform and the seedling pressing tool is responsive even to the fluctuation in thickness of the mat seedlings. SOLUTION: This seedling planting device is obtained by installing a seedling pressing tool 40 for preventing the floating of the mat seedlings A from a seedling-carrying surface with a seedling pressing working surface 40C before the seedling takeout port 13 so as to shake in the thickness direction of the mat seedlings A when the rolled mat seedlings A are extended into a sheetlike state and delivered to the seedling takeout port 13 and the tip of the delivered mat seedlings A is cut out with planting pawls 15 in the seedling takeout port 13 and planted.
