PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately transplant liana seedlings such as sweet potato seedlings. SOLUTION: In the seedling transplanter that is equipped with a seedling conveyor 5 for conveying the seedlings N and a seedling-transplanting body 6 for transplanting the seedlings conveyed by the seedling conveyor 5 to a cultivated field on the machine body having a travelling gear 4, a nipping tool 31 for transplanting is set on the seedling-transplanting body 6 so that the seedling-transplanting body 6 is let to plunge a seedling N nipped up from the seedling conveyor 5 into the soil in the longitudinal direction thereby the seedling is allowed to move backward and the nipping is released. Then, the nipping tool 31 is moved up to leave from the soil. Further, a pressing tool 91 is provided for pressing the soil on the seedling planted by the nipping tool 31.
