To provide a freshness holding material and a freshness holding method of cut flower capable of holding freshness of the cut flower for long time.SOLUTION: There is provided a freshness holding material impregnated into water in a flower vase for holding freshness of cut flower in the flower vase, consisted by P, Ag and phosphorus copper solder containing Cu. The phosphorus copper solder preferably contains P of 5.0 to 7.2 mass%, Ag of 2.0 to 15.0 mass% of Ag and the balance Cu, and more preferably contains P of 6.0 to 7.2 mass%, Ag of 5.0 to 6.0 mass% and the balance Cu.
