By the present invention, fine adjustment for each user is easily made to an auxiliary drive power applied to wheels of an electric wheelchair. A first adaptive gain and a second adaptive gain suited for a user are calculated on the basis of first rotation information and second rotation information detected when the user operates a first hand rim and a second hand rim in a test run, and the first adaptive gain and second adaptive gain are set as a first gain and a second gain, respectively.
