The invention relates to a dust collection system (10) including a chamber (20) provided to receive a sample (22) of a material (24) to be assessed such that the material has: a free surface (32) placed inside the chamber, an air flow induction device (60) configured to cause air to flow along said surface inside the chamber, and a dust collector (40) configured to collect, downstream from the sample, dust raised by said air flow. The invention also relates to a method for determining dust amounts released by a material as a result of implementing the dust collection system defined above. The invention moreover relates to a ground watering method wherein the watering program is determined particularly on the basis of the release of dust by the ground.
