The present invention relates to Notch-binding agents and Notch antagonistsand methods of using the agentsand/or antagonists for treating diseases such as cancer. The present inventionprovides antibodies that specifically bind to a non-hgandbinding region of the extracellular domain of one or more human Notchreceptor, such as Notch2 and/or Notch3, and inhibittumor growth. The present invention further provides methods of treatingcancer, the methods comprising administering atherapeutically effective amount of an antibody that specifically binds to anon-hgand binding region of the extracellular domain of ahuman Notch receptor protein and inhibits tumor growth.
