PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire more biometric information from one image by extracting tone differences in a blood vessel image in a taken image as information to be used for authentication.SOLUTION: A personal authentication device is used for performing personal authentication by using attribute information of a blood vessel pattern acquired from a living body. The device comprises: an imaging unit for taking image of an area which is an authentication target in the living body and an operation unit for acquiring the taken image as an authentication image.
