PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image suited to observation of a travel state of a blood vessel in the vicinity of a cutting plane in an operation support device for supporting an organ excision operation.SOLUTION: The surgical operation support device includes: image generation means 70 that generates from a three-dimensional image of an organ, an image representing an organ in which an excision area is identified in such a manner as to visually recognize a blood vessel region in the organ； depth input receiving means 50 that receives input specifying cutting depth； and cutting plane setup means 60 that defines, as the plane to be cut, a portion of the interface between a cutting area in the organ and a non-cutting area as the area other than the cutting area, within the range of this specified cutting depth, along the interface on the inside of the outer border of this interface. From the three-dimensional image, the image generating means 70 generates an image representing the organ in a mode as to visually recognize only partial blood vessel regions, of the blood vessel regions in the organ, that are present in the region of the vicinity of the cutting plane.【課題】臓器の切除手術を支援するための手術支援装置において、切断面近傍における血管の走行状態の観察に適した画像を提供する。【解決手段】切除領域が特定されている臓器を該臓器中の血管領域が視認可能な態様で示す画像を、臓器の３次元画像から生成する画像生成手段７０と、切断深さを指定する入力を受け付ける深さ入力受付手段５０と、臓器における切除領域と該切除領域以外の領域である非切除領域との境界面のうち、その境界面の外縁から内側に境界面に沿った前記指定された切断深さの範囲内の部分を切断面とする切断面設定手段６０とを備え、画像生成手段７０は、３次元画像から、臓器を該臓器中の血管領域のうち切断面の近傍領域内に存在する部分血管領域のみが視認可能な態様で示す画像を生成するものとする。【選択図】図１０
