PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire more biometric information from one image by extracting tone difference in a blood vessel image in a taken image as information to be used for authentication.SOLUTION: A personal authentication device is used for performing personal authentication by using feature information of a blood vessel pattern acquired from a living body. The personal authentication device comprises: an imaging unit for taking an image of an area which is an authentication target in the living body and an operation unit for acquiring the taken image as an authentication image.
