The unconsumed part of the hydrogen oxide is at least partly removed from the sterilization zone (3a). The vaporized hydrogen peroxide removed is at least partially condensed in the condenser (17) so that overall more economical operation is possible, and the condensed hydrogen peroxide is fed into the evaporator (12).
