PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article having appearance similar to that of an underpants, by preventing loose fitness and leakage when wearing the underpants type absorbent article.SOLUTION: An underpants type absorbent article comprises an exterior body 10 and an interior body 20. The exterior body 10 comprises a ventral part 11, a back side part 12, a crotch part 13, a front waist gather part 40a, and a rear waist gather part 14b. The interior body 20 comprises a top sheet 21, a back sheet 22, and an absorber 23. The ventral part 11 and the back side part 12 are respectively formed of a composite sheet formed of a first nonwoven cloth 14, a flexible film 15, and a second nonwoven cloth 14.
