PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an absorber having a high-density part and a low-density part largely different in density.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the absorber includes: a piling process of sucking the raw material of the absorber, supplied while carried by air streams, into the recessed parts 22 provided to the outer peripheral surface 21 of a rotary drum 2 to obtain pile objects, and also sucking the raw material of the absorber onto the conveying surface of the conveyor belt 43 running under the rotary drum to obtain a pile object a superposition process of superposing the pile objects obtained in the recessed parts on the pile object obtained on the conveying surface to obtain a superposed pile object and a pressing process of pressing the superposed pile object to compress the same. In the piling process, the raw material is piled in the recessed parts respectively having a plurality of suction parts which have the bases comprising porous plates and perform suction from the bases, and a plurality of non-suction parts which have the air-impermeable bases and perform no suction from the bases. In the pressing process, the superposed pile objects are pressed to obtain the absorber having the high density part and the low density part different in density from each other.
