PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iontophoresis apparatus which can inhibit the generation of gas and the generation of an undesirable ion in a current-carrying state, or which can inhibit the alteration of a drug ion from being caused by electrode reaction.SOLUTION: An action-side electrode structure 10a comprises an electrode 11 which is connected to a feeder 31 of a power source 30, an ionic liquid retention part 12 for retaining an ionic liquid brought into contact with the electrode 11, and a drug retention part 15 which is arranged on the front side of the retaining part 12 so as to retain a drug solution. An anion, which constitutes the ionic liquid, is selected from among PF6-, BF4-, AlCl4-, ClO4-, a hydrogen sulfate ion, bis-trifluoroalkylsulfonyl-imide, and trifluoromethanesulfonate.
